Ganesha, the Hindu deity in a human form but with the head of an elephant – represents the power of the Supreme Being that removes obstacles and ensures success in human endeavors.
Ganesha is one of the most widely worshipped God in the Hindu system. In one branch of Hinduism, he is considered as one of the Sacred Five Deities (along with Shiva, Vishnu, Shakti and Surya).
Ganesha is the God of knowledge and wisdom. He is the first God to be worshipped and is significantly invoked at the beginning of any new work. He is believed to be the remover of obstacles and bestower of success and auspiciousness (Shubhkarta).
