एक शाम ओ श्याम बिता जाना,

मैं निर्धन हूँ मेरे पास प्रभु,
चूरमा मेवा ना मिठाई है,
सोने के सिंघासन है तेरे,
मेरे घर धरती की चटाई है,
यहीं बैठके लख दातार मुझे,
तुम अपनी कथा सुना जाना,
कभी फ़ुर्सत हो धनवानों से,
तो श्याम मेरे घर आ जाना।
मुझको भी सुदामा के जैसा,
तुम मित्र समझकर श्याम मेरे,
मेरी आँख से बहते अश्कों को,
तुम इत्र समझकर श्याम मेरे,
मेरी कुटिया में आकर मुझसे,
तुम अपने चरण धुलवा जाना,
कभी फ़ुरसत हो धनवानों से,
तो श्याम मेरे घर आ जाना।
बड़ी तेज दुःखों की आंधी है,
मन घबराए ओ सांवरिया,
संदीप की आस के दिप कहीं,
बुझ ना जाएं ओ साँवरिया,
हारे के सहारे हो तुम तो,
मुझ को भी धीर बंधा जाना,

chUramA mevA nA miThAI hai,
sone ke siMghAsana hai tere,
mere ghara dharatI kI chaTAI hai,
yahIM baiThake lakha dAtAra mujhe,
tuma apanI kathA sunA jAnA,
kabhI pha़ursata ho dhanavAnoM se,
to shyAma mere ghara A jAnA|
mujhako bhI sudAmA ke jaisA,
tuma mitra samajhakara shyAma mere,
merI A.Nkha se bahate ashkoM ko,
tuma itra samajhakara shyAma mere,
merI kuTiyA meM Akara mujhase,
tuma apane charaNa dhulavA jAnA,
