कुछ पाने के खातिर तेरे दर,
हम भी झोली फैलाए हुए है।
दोहा कोई कह रहा की,
महल बनवाऊंगा मैं,
और कोई कह रहा,
की शहंशाह बन जाऊँगा मैं,
पर कोई ना जाने इस जीवन की,
क्या औकात है,
चार दिन की चांदनी और,
फिर अँधेरी रात है।
कोई इंसान किसी इंसान को,
क्या देता है,
बहाना आदमी का है,
देने वाला तो वही देता है,
गर जो देने पे आए,
तो ढेरों के ढेर लगा देता है,
और जो लेने पे आए तो,
चमड़ी भी उधेड़ लेता है।
कुछ पाने के खातिर तेरे दर,
हम भी झोली फैलाए हुए है,
यहाँ झोली सभी की है भरती,
इसलिए हम भी आए हुए है,
कुछ पानें के ख़ातिर तेरे दर,

तुमने सब कुछ जहां में बनाया,
चाँद तारे जमीं आसमां भी,
चलते फिरते ये माटी के पुतले,
तूने कैसे सजाये हुए है,

हो गुनहगार कितना भी कोई,
हिसाब माँगा ना तुमने किसी से,
तुमने औलाद अपनी समझकर,
सबके अवगुण छुपाए हुए है,

जिसपे हो जाए रहमत तुम्हारी,
मौत के मुंह से उसको बचालो,
तुमने लाखों हजारो के बेड़े,
डूबने से बचाए हुए है,
