रात भादो की थी,
छाई काली घटा,
कृष्ण का जन्म लेना,
गजब हो गया,
पहरे दार सभी,
सो गए जेल के,
माया भगवन की रचना,
गजब हो गया,
रात भादों की थी,
छाई काली घटा।।

लेके मोहन को,
वसुदेव गोकुल चले,
नाम भगवन का,
ह्रदय में लेके चले,
देखे यमुना के तट पे,
है मोहन खड़े,
पैर यमुना का छुना,
गजब हो गया,
रात भादों की थी,
छाई काली घटा।।

जाके गोकुल से,
वसुदेव लाए लली,
और मोहन को छोड़ा,
लली की जगह,
जब सुबह को खबर,
कंस ने ये सुनी,
उसका धीरज ना बंधना,
गजब हो गया,
रात भादों की थी,
छाई काली घटा।।

दौड़ा दौड़ा गया,
वो पापी जेल में,
लेके फोरन चला,
वो उसे मारने,
ज्यूँ ही कन्या को,
ऊपर उठाने लगा,
उसको ऊपर उठाना,
गजब हो गया,
रात भादों की थी,
छाई काली घटा।।

उसने चाहा की मारू,
शिला से इसे,
छुट के वो गई,
कन्या आकाश में,
करने आकाश वाणी,
वो कन्या लगी,
तेरा कन्या को मारना,
गजब हो गया,
रात भादो की थी,
छाई काली घटा।।
