Sasthru Panchakshara Stotram

(Here is a pretty prayer the different stanzas starting with the letters of the Panchakshara – “Om Namashivaya”)

1.
Omkara moorthi marthignam,
Devam Hariharathmajam,
Sabari Peeda NIlayam,
Sastharam pranathosmyaham.

I salute that Sastha,
Who is the form of “Om”, who destroys avarice,
Who is the God who is son of Lord Vishnu and Shiva,
And who sits on the Sabari Peeda.

2.
Nakshatra nadha Vadanam,
Nadham tribhuvanavanam,
Namitha sesha bhuvanam,
Sastharam pranathosmyaham.

2.
I salute that Sastha,
Who has a face like the Lord of stars(moon),
Who is the Lord who is accepted by all the three worlds,
And who is saluted by the rest of the universe.

3.
Manmadhayutha saundaryam,
Maha Bhootha nishevitham,
Mrugayaa rasikam sooram,
Sastharam pranathosmyaham.

I salute that Sastha,
Who is as pretty as the beauty of God of love,
Who is followed by all the great Bhoothas,
Who is interested in hunting and is valorous.

4.
Shiva pradhayinam bhaktha,
Daivatham pandya balakam,
Sardhoola dugdha harthaaram,
Sastharam pranathosmyaham.

4.
I salute that Sastha,
Who is the gift of Shiva,
Who is the God of devotees,
Who is the son of Pandyas,
And who brought the milk of tiger.

5.
Varanendra samaaroodam,
Viswa thrana parayanam,
Vethroth bhasi karambhujam,
Sastharam pranathosmyaham.

I salute that Sastha,
Who rides on the king of elephants,
Who is busy in looking after the universe,
And who has a lotus face and shines in the bamboo forest.

Yakshinyabhimatham, poorna,
Pushkala pari sevitham,
Kshipra prasadakam nithyam,
Sastharam pranathosmyaham.

I daily salute that Sastha,
Who was desired by a Yakshi,
Who is served by Poorna and Pushkala,
And who is pleased easily
