NavaGraha Stotram
NavaGraha Stotram

“Nava” means nine, and “Graha” refers to the planets. The NavaGraha Stotram is a revered hymn composed of nine verses, each dedicated to one of the nine celestial deities that comprise the Navagrahas. These are:

  • Surya (Sun): The king of planets, representing soul, vitality, and authority.
  • Chandra (Moon): Symbolizing mind, emotions, and motherly love.
  • Mangal (Mars): Representing energy, courage, and action.
  • Budha (Mercury): Governing intellect, communication, and business.
  • Guru (Jupiter): The great benefic, signifying wisdom, prosperity, and spiritual growth.
  • Shukra (Venus): The planet of love, beauty, arts, and material comforts.
  • Shani (Saturn): The disciplinarian, representing karma, patience, and longevity.
  • Rahu (North Lunar Node): A shadowy planet associated with ambition, obsession, and illusion.
  • Ketu (South Lunar Node): Another shadowy planet signifying detachment, spirituality, and liberation.

Each verse of the Stotram offers salutations and praises to a specific Graha, invoking their blessings and seeking to mitigate any malefic effects they might cast.
