क्या वह स्वभाव पहला,
सरकार अब नहीं है,
दीनों के वास्ते क्या,
दरबार अब नहीं है।।
या तो दयालु मेरी,
दृढ़ दीनता नहीं है,
या दीन कि तुम्हें ही,
दरकार अब नहीं है,
जिससे कि सुदामा,
त्रयलोक पा गया था,
क्या उस उदारता में,
कुछ सार अब नहीं है।
क्या वह स्वभाव पहलां,
सरकार अब नहीं है,
दीनों के वास्ते क्या,
दरबार अब नहीं है।।
पाते थे जिस ह्रदय का,
आश्रय अनाथ लाखों,
क्या वह हृदय दया का,
भण्डार अब नहीं है,
दौड़े थे द्वारिका से,
जिस पर अधीर होकर,
उस अश्रु ‘बिन्दु’ से भी,
क्या प्यार अब नहीं है।
क्या वह स्वभाव पहलां,
सरकार अब नहीं है,
दीनों के वास्ते क्या,
दरबार अब नहीं है।।
