Amba Devi Temple is located Amravati city of Maharashtra state. Amravati city is also known as Ambanagari. The city has several historical landmarks in addition to Amba Devi Temple such as the temples of Amba, Shri Krishna and Shri Venkateshwara. According to legend, Lord Krishna married Rukmini after abducting her when she came to pray at Amba Devi Temple. Though this was planned by Rukmini herself – and she informed Lord Krishna through a written letter in which she mentioned the desire to marry him. Rukmini’s brother & Lord Krishna then had a battle which was eventually won by Lord Krishna. Amba Devi Temple is visited by huge number of people during the Navratri festival ( which is celebrated as Durga Puja in Northern part of India)
