अधिभूतं क्षरो भाव: पुरुषश्चाधिदैवतम् |
अधियज्ञोऽहमेवात्र देहे देहभृतां वर || 4||

adhibhūtaṁ kṣharo bhāvaḥ puruṣhaśh chādhidaivatam
adhiyajño ’ham evātra dehe deha-bhṛitāṁ vara

भावार्थ:

उत्पत्ति-विनाश धर्म वाले सब पदार्थ अधिभूत हैं, हिरण्यमय पुरुष (जिसको शास्त्रों में सूत्रात्मा, हिरण्यगर्भ, प्रजापति, ब्रह्मा इत्यादि नामों से कहा गया है) अधिदैव है और हे देहधारियों में श्रेष्ठ अर्जुन! इस शरीर में मैं वासुदेव ही अन्तर्यामी रूप से अधियज्ञ हूँ॥4॥

Translation

O best of the embodied souls, the physical manifestation that is constantly changing is called adhibhūta; the universal form of God, which presides over the celestial gods in this creation, is called adhidaiva; I, who dwell in the heart of every living being, am called Adhiyajña, or the Lord of all sacrifices.
