tayor na vaśham āgachchhet tau hyasya paripanthinau

भावार्थ:

इन्द्रिय-इन्द्रिय के अर्थ में अर्थात प्रत्येक इन्द्रिय के विषय में राग और द्वेष छिपे हुए स्थित हैं। मनुष्य को उन दोनों के वश में नहीं होना चाहिए क्योंकि वे दोनों ही इसके कल्याण मार्ग में विघ्न करने वाले महान्‌ शत्रु हैं॥34॥

Translation

The senses naturally experience attachment and aversion to the sense objects, but do not be controlled by them, for they are way-layers and foes.
