अहिंसा समता तुष्टिस्तपो दानं यशोऽयश: |

भवन्ति भावा भूतानां मत्त एव पृथग्विधा: || 5||

ahinsā samatā tuṣhṭis tapo dānaṁ yaśho ’yaśhaḥ
bhavanti bhāvā bhūtānāṁ matta eva pṛithag-vidhāḥ

भावार्थ:

तथा अहिंसा, समता, संतोष तप (स्वधर्म के आचरण से इंद्रियादि को तपाकर शुद्ध करने का नाम तप है), दान, कीर्ति और अपकीर्ति- ऐसे ये प्राणियों के नाना प्रकार के भाव मुझसे ही होते हैं॥4॥

Translation

forgiveness, truthfulness, control over the senses and mind, joy and sorrow, birth and death, fear and courage, non-violence, equanimity, contentment, austerity, charity, fame, and infamy.
